‘ They are stories of time and place ’

Marta initiated this series of explorations into elements and atmosphere over centuries in 2005, it was inspired by the wall of the basement of a long-abandoned 15th century house in the Czech Republic. They are stories of time and place. Marta found beauty in the marks, lines, colors, cracks and textures left on the walls of the basement, and among those natural signs of decay and evolution, discerned compositions on the walls which she saw as collaborative effort between humans, nature, and time. She has blown up the details and created landscapes from them, thereby holding a magnifying glass to the microcosms.
